This bed is an excellent piece of furniture for the price. I would definitely buy it again. My wife really wanted a storage bed, and I could not find another one that suited her (and was in our price range). The wood is high quality, and the brown finish stain is accurately represented in the picture. It is very sturdy when put together and the drawers pull are very smooth when sliding. Note that you do NOT need a box spring or foundation with this bed. Also, be aware that this bed is high off the ground. I'm 6'3" and with a 12 inch memory foam mattress, the top of the mattress is even with my belt. The memory foam combination with this bed has been like sleeping on a cloud. There is some assembly required so have an extra pair of hands nearby when assembling. Bottom line, if you want a high bed with plenty of storage, look no further. My wife is happy, and as a wise man once told me, "Happy wife, happy life."

Nice quality and easy to assemble. I, a capable lady with some experience, assembled it with my 17 y.o. nephew. Way better than I expected. Color was close to what I saw on my laptop. Drawers slide nice, are sturdy, pulls and rails seem decent. It is tall, I am 5'4" and I have to hitch myself up onto it. It comes in three large cardboard boxes, all wrapped in plastic and more cardboard and I ended up with most of a small trailer full of cardboard, plastic, Styrofoam and various other packaging items but I was glad to deal with it because my bed came undamaged.One thing I wish was different is the slats that hold the mattress in place. Most of them are over the drawer bases with tons of support. The top few feet have only a small support rail that works but could be much better. My husband says they are fine so we have been trialing it for a week or so and it seems very stable even with my concerns.Overall I very extremely satisfied and would definitely recommend to my family and friends.10/13 Update: I changed my review to 4 stars. Although I am still very happy with the bed, we got a new mattress and noticed that the supports were sagging when we went to put it in so we added extra supports. In keeping with our warranty requirements for the Temperpedic mattress we added plywood on top of the slats to prevent further sagging. When we did that we added a piece to block an area at the head of the mattress to stop stuff from falling underneath the bed. My glasses, a book light, and various other small items fell in. I would also suggest adding an extension cord to the bookcase when assembling if you plan on putting anything like an alarm clock in the cubbies. I got a new alarm clock and it was very hard to plug it in. I still love it, though.

Other than putting this bed together, which came in about 4 separate boxes (one was damaged by the shipper and was replaced by the seller ASAP), this bed is very nice. We added one layer, which took two pieces of 1/4" plywood, on top to accommodate our new Dream Number Mattress which required a solid full base versus planks. We simply cut the wood length wise to fit perfectly to length and met exactly in the middle. I drilled holes in areas I felt would best support the board to lay flat on all ends and the middle. After we installed the top (once everything else was already put together) we have a rock solid beautiful wood Cal King bed. The only thing I would have improved on would be the drawers as their face is great but the drawer is made of a lesser quality material and the drawer slide mechanism could have been a bit higher quality. Having said all that, I would buy this bed again if given the choice. If at some point the drawer slides fail, I will replace with a higher quality mechanism. I would also recommend to anyone purchasing the bed to add the 1/4" plywood on top for additional support.
