First off be warned this is not brown, but really black. When I first got this bed in the mail I saw that the box was pretty torn up, but I was thinking it wouldn't be a problem, as most things of value are well packaged. This was not. It came in two separate boxes and the damage done to the box damaged the bed-- to where the corners of the bed are dented and I had to hammer out some of the metal to straighten it. (There was no fixing the crushed leather). Now, for the assembly... not so easy to put together as the previous review stated. It took me a lot longer than 2 and a half hours, and I am a pro at assembling things from boxes... like my 4 book shelves, 2 DVD cases, CD case, entertainment center.. you get the picture. When putting it together, make sure you read 3 steps ahead because one will tell you to put the screws in (which normally you put all the screws in and then tighten them) but two steps later that is when they want you to tighten them. So I had to un-tighten all of the screws just to put the support beam in. Ahh! That's another thing... The side rails look like they can go either way, but the support beam slides into a slot that can only go in on one side. ( I tried to hide the mangled-ness) Thanks for making that clear 2 steps too late! Then, I get all of the pieces together and start to put the slats together. The slats are cheap particle board held by even cheaper plastic. After all of that, I went to the home depot and had to get sheets of ply wood to put on top of it because I was afraid I was just going to fall through the cheap slats while sleeping. (That was adding about an extra $30 to the price)So, after this long day I am pretty annoyed. Then I go to put the mattress on the bed to see that the mattress is a few inches small on each side so you can see the plywood or slats. What the hell?Aside from all of this drama, we got a black sheet to put on the plywood so it gives the appearance my King sized mattress isn't too small for this king sized frame.

I have nothing bad to say about this bed. I put it together all by myself in about 2.5 hours. I'm neither strong, nor in shape! lol But I did it! And the end product looks great, and extremely sturdy! It's perfect for the price.
