5Let's be honest - you're overweight & worried this won't work for you...
By R. Harvey
I know you're out there. I know you've looked at this frame a few times and thought, "gosh, it sounds good, but we're such BIG people..." and you've clicked away and continued to suffer with whatever bed setup you currently have.Well, you are who I want to talk to...Between my husband and I, we're looking at 650lbs(That's my fault, in case anyone wants to poke fun at the fatties - feel free to give me whatever grief your smug self needs to if it makes you feel better). Add the weight of a king sized 10" memory foam mattress and a 4" memory foam topper, and I definitely had some concerns about just how stable and strong this frame could be in light of that. But I'm a risk taker, so I took the plunge and ordered it.I can tell you - my fears were unfounded. I am actually shocked and surprised by how strong this frame truly is. You look at the pictures and you think, "no way that's going to hold us." You pull it out of the box the first time and think, "I shouldn't even bother unwrapping this - it can't possibly be strong enough." But you take a chance and you put it together, and you take a deep breath while a bit of fear flutters through you... and you gingerly lower yourself down onto it. You think to yourself, "ok, so far so good... but once I lay down or try to roll over... that'll be it. This is going to collapse and I'm going to be trying to call 911 from the floor where I'm trapped inside this thing."I tell you true - your fears are as unfounded as mine are.I don't know enough about engineering to explain how they've managed to develop such a light-weight frame that can withstand the weight we're putting on it, I simply know they've done it. I don't know what magic spell they had to weave, but it must have been a good one. It worked and it worked well. Some additional information that is generally useful to anyone considering this purchase:1. We also bought the Structures by Malouf HIGHRISE Headboard/Footboard Bracket Set of 2. It was a bit of a PITA to attach to our existing headboard, but it worked well once attached. One recommendation here, particularly for large people - if your headboard is not tightly flush against the wall, you're going to want to place some sort of block or padding between the headboard and the wall. I think it has to do with the height at which the bracket set attaches to the headboard, but it does not seem to hold it completely straight or as firmly as I'd like. Then again, because of our room layout and window ledge, our headboard can't be flush to the wall, so that may make a difference.2. You'll need to make sure that the legs have LOCKED into position and, if you've got the king-size, that you have used the hard rubber/plastic "clips" to connect the two frames together. Don't skip these!3. You're using a memory foam mattress here, ladies & gents. That means it is soft and malleable. Now look at the frame - see how it has spaces between the support bars? Ok, two points - a) No, you will not feel those thin bars/rails through your mattress. This assumes, of course, that you have a halfway decent memory foam mattress of reasonable thickness. I would think anything thinner than 8" could be an issue. b) Yes, edges at the top and bottom of your mattress MAY compress down a bit into the gaps between the thick outer rails of the frame and the first inner rows of the thin bars. This shouldn't be an issue while you're sleeping - but it does mean that it's going to tug your pretty 14" dust ruffle up so that it no longer touches the ground. My advice? Get a longer ruffle to compensate for this.4. We tried three different setups with our 10" memory foam mattress & our 4" memory foam topper. First we did just the 10" - for me, that was a tiny bit too firm. I have been going through a series of 14 surgeries on my back (this, for the haters, is why I've gotten so fat), and so I am very VERY sensitive to any pressure points. I could not feel the individual rails of the frame, not even the tiniest bit - just the overall surface was a bit too firm. Then we put the 4" topper on top. WAYYYYYY too squishy! Much hilarity ensued in getting me back out of the pit of foam I'd sunk into. Hubby said, "let's put it underneath the mattress." That was our Goldilocks moment (minus the angry bears, I'm glad to say).5. Your first night or two you may wake up with a stiff neck or back. Don't give up. Your body is adjusting to being properly supported by the correct combination of a memory foam mattress and a frame that's actually perfectly designed to optimize that mattress.6. It is wonderful having so much clearance under the frame. You know those boxy fabric drawers that are so popular lately? They fit fantastically beneath this frame! So nice to have that extra storage for space bag totes full of extra blankets and the fabric drawers for sheet sets and whatever else you want to keep down there! I've set up 3 drawers already, each of which has one set of sheets & pillowcases. I can change the sheets, take the used ones to the laundry room IN the newly-vacated drawer, run them through the wash and fold them up right back into the drawer and then take it back to the bedroom and slide it back into place. Awesome!I really do suggest giving this frame a try. I think you will be as pleasantly surprised as we were. We're intending to buy more of these to replace the other frames in our house, and we've discussed buying an extra set of twins (with memory foam mattresses) to store in the closet in case we need extra temporary bedding for additional guests in the future. I mean, imagine how easy it would be to find space somewhere in a closet to store enough bedding for two people in a space that is no bigger than the space your dishwasher currently occupies. Lovely!

4Great for a memory foam mattress.
By Voyager
This review is for the King size frame. I had ordered this bed frame for use with my new memory foam mattress. I read conflicting information about what sort of foundation was appropriate for a memory foam mattress, but I decided to choose this product over a box foundation due to price. For the price this frame was far cheaper than going with a box foundation or a platform. I was a bit concerned that the wire slats on this might not be sufficient to support a memory foam mattress, but rest assured, it works perfectly. The frame arrived in a rather large box. It is heavy, so you may need some help with it. The box did have handles, which was nice. I was able to move it myself, but if you are on the smaller side, you might want some help. I was expecting a bunch of pieces but instead it came almost fully assembled. There were 2 frames folded neatly and bubble wrapped, as well as a small bag of hardware. The small hardware bag (which was sandwiched inside the folded and wrapped frame) was somehow torn open, and some of the hardware was loose in the box. I almost discarded the box with 2 washers still inside it. Not sure if that was a freak incident or indicative of their packaging. You should be careful to check for small parts before throwing out the box.Setup was very simple. You unfold the frame at the middle, then swing down the legs at each end until they snap into place. Next it was a simple matter of bolting the two frames together. There are small holes towards either end of the frame, run a screw through the hole, place a plastic space on the screw, run the screw through the corresponding hole on the 2nd frame, slip on a washer, and screw on the bolt. It even includes the necessary wrenches for the task. Once everything was unfolded & bolted together, the unit as a whole felt very sturdy. I had no concerns over it's ability to support my mattress and 2 people. It seems solid enough that I do not expect any creaking or other noises, but only time will tell for certain.Other than the open hardware bag, I did notice a couple of things. First off there was rust powder on one end of both frames. I inspected the framed, and couldn't find any rust after wiping off the powder, so not sure where that came from or if it was residue from the packaging process. Also the bed is a little shy of offering 14" of space underneath. First off, each corner has angled brackets for support, so those sections will make storage more difficult. Next the frame itself counts towards the overall 14" height, so you'll lose about 2" there. As far as sleeping on it goes, I really can't tell the difference between this frame and any other form of foundation. Since it's 14" high, there is no noticeable difference in bed height, and with a skirt over the frame, you can't even tell there not a box under the mattress. Oh, and having the extra storage space is certainly a plus.I would recommend this frame for anyone considering it for a memory foam mattress. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one in the future.

5Folding Metal Bed Frame
By Austinite
My queen bed frame from LinenSpa was shipped quickly - it arrived at my house 3 days after I ordered it. As advertised, it was was easy to set it up because all you do is unfold each of the two pieces and put two bolts in place and viola! you have a bed. The only thing I needed help with was actually moving the mattress and box spring.I have seen this bed frame offered on other sites but am happy I ordered it from Amazon because the price was lower and I got free shipping. Reviewers on other sites were unanimous in their praise of this little gem and now I can see why; it will be a snap to take apart when I move and each piece (folded) will easily fit in a car - or closet if I ever want to store it.This bed frame is 14" TALL so I ended up ditching my box spring and it turns out that was the right choice; otherwise I would need a ladder to get into bed. (I tried it out just to make sure and felt like the princess and the pea or something.)So how does it feel to sleep on it without a box spring? Great. I've had it for over a week and I honestly don't feel a difference - and my box spring was a good one, nearly new. This bed provides excellent support and does not squeak or wobble - it is sturdy as all get-out. I also like the fact that it gives me so much storage space under the bed. That is a definite bonus.I would recommend this frame to anyone who wants a sturdy platform bed to sleep on; the price is great and it is very comfortable to sleep on.
