All buyers of large item beware
By Everyday Joe
My negative review probably had more to do with the whole process than the item but I really want to warn others about buying large items from Amazon. Think very carefully before you buy. Be aware of what could go wrong.I have been an Amazon customer for ages and bought this as my first large item on Amazon after buying countless smaller items here.(from books to electronics) I still decided to buy this bed even though looking through customer feedback on other furniture, I see many had warn about the problems they experienced with Amazon's large items.I will try to keep this very short and skip most of the little problems. The Delivery:I bought this with prime and shows ships in a few business days with 2 day transit. Got a tracking number but it had info from last year. Estimated delivery came and went with nothing. Called Amazon was told initially it disappeared. Later was told the tracking's wrong. Given the right tracking but item was still missing. Called the carrier and they found it and said their local delivery company (another third party) will deliver it. Local company called to arrange delivery. Took the day off to wait but nothing came. Call local company and they said they didn't get the item from carrier to deliver. Called carrier and found the item was on its way to NY! (The item came from Chicago and I only live less than 20 miles away). Was told they'll get it back here and deliver it to me next day for sure. Took another day off to wait and nothing came AGAIN. Called carrier and they told me no one came to pick it up for delivery. They said they'll deliver it to me next day after my work hours. Finally got my item and it was damaged (cover on headboard ripped) and someone tried to hide the damaged by wrapping tons of tape over the corner of the box. This was also two weeks after my order. The Return:After the ordeal I didn't want it anymore. Amazon said they'll arrange pickup and someone will call. Of course days go by no call. Contacted Amazon about it and finally someone called next day. Was told Amazon will refund me when they get it. Picked it up 7 days ago, no news, no product, no refund yet.The customer service:Also have to warn you that furniture on Amazon are handled by a separate customer service department with regular work hours. The wait on calling in is long. Regular Amazon customer service can't help you at all with your furniture problem. They only pass your problem along and say someone will contact you in 24-48 hours about it.The item:I got this because other said it was sturdy but I never got to putting it together. The foam inside is very thin and only about 1 to 2 mm thick. When you press the cushioning, there won't be much pushing back so the headboard is quite hard. The frame in general is heavy and on par with others I've seen. The price dropped $100+ during my original delivery ordeal and Amazon only offered to send a replacement for the damage without a refund for the new difference even after pointing out the new price. All in all very disappointed with Amazon and ended up buying something similar for more from a local place. This experience has steered me away from Amazon as a customer after probably spending at least $8000+ dollars here over the years.I really hope someone read this and think long and hard about buying furniture on Amazon. I'm sure many other people had okay experiences with Amazon furniture but just want everyone to know the worst that happened to me could happen to you.

Very Nice Bed!
By Happy Customer
I am very happy with the seller's customer service. When I originally purchased the bed, I accidently purchased it in white. I noticed it right away and called the seller. He was very easy to work with and immediately changed it to sable and emailed me confirmation. However, I was very frustrated working with the shipper.I scheduled the drop-off 10am-2pm. About 5 phone calls and 3 house calls later I finally got my bed at 7pm.The bed was shipped in 3 boxes. 2 were right, 1 was someone else's daybed. They had to come back to my house and pick it up. Then someone else brought me the correct box in what looked like his own minivan (probably on his way home from work).Throughout the process I ended up talking to the driver, his boss, and his boss's boss.Despite the difficulties, I'm very happy with this bed. The leather is soft but it feels very well built. Also I have an expensive mattress which requires a box spring. But this frame has an inherent base structure that I'm confident will support my mattress as well as a box spring (which is great because I can maintain a super low profile!).

Great Value for the Price
By Allison S.
I am one of those people that is always looking for a deal. Being that I've always wanted a platform bed, I shopped high and low to find just the perfect one that's within my budget. I know that amazon has other Uphostered platform bed that's about $200 and you are probably thinking that's a good deal. WRONG.You may think you splurge a bit more on this bed but honestly now I realized it was well worth it, and believe me this bed is a deal. The reason for the other bed's cheapness is really the construction and interior. Many of the $200 ones are not real platform beds because they need a box spring (if you have a box spring, why bother getting a whole bed?) or they don't come with a headboard. This bed is solid. The weight of it is heavier than other ones around and it is definitely sturdier. The support boards are warped in that they bow one way to account for some give when you lay on it - it is all uniform and it is supposed to be warped. There are a decent amount of them (40+ beams) that I believe will support a substanial amount of weight between two people. The sizing was perfect. I brought a queen and my queen mattress laid perfectly on it without showing any of the wooden beams. It gives just enough room to tuck in your sheets like you are supposed to. No gaps and looks perfect. The legs of the bed screws in and looks very classy - I ordered the white and the legs were a dark wooden color. I liked the contrast, but I can see that it may bother some. There are cheap plastic things that holds the beam ends and snaps into little holes on the metal side long beams for security. I thought it was pretty filmsy at first, however once assembled I think it is just enough since the weight is distributed evenly. Therefore overall it is very sturdy and once pressed in, it holds the beam in place pretty well.It was after I got this that I saw in a furniture store what the other cheaper upholstered bed looks like, and needless to say, I'm so happy I spend the extra money. Of course, if you can I would definitely slurge on the ones with the storage underneath or one that's made of real leather for double or even triple the price... but for a graduate that's still knee deep in student loans this is a great value. Since it is just fancy enough and won't break the bank. Also I understand what people were saying about UPS delivery. However, I find that the shipper actually takes great care in packaging. The pleather is wrapped in a protective sheet within the box then packed with cardboard and foam. The parts are secured and neatly packed. It came in 3 boxes which are managable size for even a 5'2 girl to take apart and put together. It took me a totaly of 2 hours to assemble it with no help and a break in between.Great Value overall!
