Soft Heat® Luxury Micro-Fleece Electric Heated Warming Blanket is probably one of the most plush warming blankets you'll ever have the luxury of snuggling up in. That's just one of the wonderful features of this blanket because within the incredibly soft micro-fleece fabric is the pantented Safe & Warm™ low-voltage technology. This low-voltage blanket includes a small power supply box that changes 120 volt AC home current into non-hazardous low voltage DC current (very similar to a battery) to provide warmth, protection and safety even if the blanket becomes wet. Unlike other warming blankets with their bulky wires, the heating wires in the Soft Heat blankets are so small, they are virtually unnoticeable and also give more of an even heat meaning-no hot or cold spots. The king size blanket comes standard with two easy to read, easy to turn, non-slip computerized controllers to adjust the temperature on each side of the bed giving individual comfort and control. With an automatic pre-heat and hold feature you simply turn them on and the blanket will warm up on HI until it reaches the temperature that you pre set your individual dial on and then adjusts itself to hold it there. For your safety and convienience it has an automatic shut off feature that will shut the blanket off after 10 hours just in case you forget. It also comes standard with built in over-temperature protection for that extra bit of safety and piece of mind. Worked well then stopped working

I really liked this blanket. It is very comfortable and warm. However one side has stopped working. I have left 5 messages at the customer support and no one calls me back. You cant speak to a live person. It is supposed to be a 5 year warranty but if you can't reach the warranty support it isn't very good.Lucretia Ryan

Worked well last winter, but. . . see follow up

I loved this blanket and had no problems with it initially. When I unpacked it this year and put it on the bed I noticed that the socket for the plug on the left side had come out of the blanket. When I picked it up to examine it about a foot of the wiring also came out of the blanket.Since it came with a five year warranty, [[ASIN:B002MUB9CY Soft Heat® Luxury Micro-Fleece Electric Heated Warming Blanket King Size-Slate]I will call the manufacturer on Monday to see if it can be replaced. I am not encouraged by those who say they call and no one ever calls them back.We'll see. . .FOLLOW UPSaw that others had written that they contacted the distributor by phone, left a message and their calls were never returned. I decided to email instead. Emailed on a Friday night, included all pertinent info. Received email from Tracey Helms on Monday morning asking if I would cut out and mail label from blanket to her at which point she would ship replacement. (No paying to return defective blanket.) I did as she asked and received my new blanket in ten days. Can't ask for better customer service than that.

This blanket is so wonderfully warm and comfortable, it's like being hugged by your mother.I'd leave it at that, but Amazon doesn't like short reviews. The blanket is almost a year old now, and still working perfectly. It's got a knob control that allows for infinite fine-tuning, which means you can set the blanket to *exactly* the perfect temperature for you. Also, the range of temperatures is nice and wide: from 'barely detectable' to 'surface of the sun,' so there's a setting for everyone. It washes well with minimal pilling, and remains colorfast and soft. I ordered Garnet, though the color is closer to a wine red than a bright garnet.The wiring in these new blankets is almost undetectable, especially compared with the old fashioned type that felt like sleeping under a chain link fence. MUCH more comfortable. Also, the design minimizes electricity use by heating in one direction only: down, towards you. Those clever blanket makers figured out that you don't also have to try to heat the entire room by heating both down AND up. Up is a waste, unless you have a cat, who will be annoyed if you buy a warming blanket that doesn't also warm her spot on the bed.**UPDATE**Two days after writing this review, the blanket died. It lived 10 months. HOWEVER: The company replaced the blanket, no questions asked. They were very nice in email, and they simply sent out a new one. Took a week to get the replacement via UPS, and I didn't have to send in the old one.Hopefully the one that broke was a fluke, and this one will last -- though I worry that the wires, which are wonderfully non-intrusive-feeling, make the item frail by nature. It was the wiring within the blanket itself that failed (I tested the old controller on the new blanket and it works; so it's the connections inside the blanket, most likely at the connection point).
