Firmer Than Expected

I've had this mattress for about a month now, and I really do love it! It's so much better than my old pillow top mattress, and I haven't been waking up with back pain anymore! I have a lot of trouble sleeping, to the point where I would actually dread going to bed because I knew it would mean a night of tossing and turning, not really sleeping well at all, and waking up with pain and numbness. Since switching from a pillow top to memory foam, almost all those areas are gone! I sleep better, wake up refreshed, and have no more back pain and less numbness in my hands. In fact, my boyfriend even told me I've been in such a deep sleep lately that when he goes to bed after me he can't wake me up enough to have me move over! That's saying a lot for someone with such severe sleep problems that any tiny noise used to wake me up!Before ordering this mattress, my boyfriend and I went to a mattress store and tried out all kinds of mattresses, from standard spring (blah), pillow tops (ouch), tempurpedic (hated how it felt like you were setting in cement), standard memory foam (nice), and cool gel memory foam (amazing!).Our favorite was the coolsense memory foam mattress by Sealy Posturepedic, but it would set us back over $2k, and we didn't have that. So we searched online for something similar: a queen sized memory foam mattress with cool gel foam, and this one came back as the closest match with the best reviews for about a quarter of the price of the Sealy!After sleeping on the Dynasty Cool Breeze for a month, I noticed a huge difference between this mattress and my old KingKoil pillow top: I sleep better (I used to toss and turn all night on the pillow top), and I wake up without back pain! I used to wake up all stiff and sore after (restlessly) sleeping on my pillow top. So, HUGE improvement there! However, this memory foam mattress is definitely FIRM. Not, however, like the tempurpedic, where it's hard as a rock when you get on it and your body slowly sinks into the mattress like you're setting into in wet cement, but just on the firmer side. I do wish it was a little bit softer, but it's still comfy. Though I should note that my boyfriend doesn't think it's too hard. He thinks it's perfect!It's summer, and we're in a heat wave, and I still sleep with a light quilt at night and haven't overheated at all, and I hear most memory foam mattresses trap body heat, which we definitely didn't want! However, it isn't as cool as the Sealy CoolSense, which felt instantly cool the moment you lay down on it. But, again, I didn't have an issue with overheating, so I'm happy with it.The pillows I didn't like at all. I'm a stomach sleeper, and they're just too firm and too thick for me, and not a pillow you can cuddle with. My boyfriend loves them though. He sleeps on his side, and he loves how cool they feel under his head. So, personal preference on those I suppose.Sorry for the lengthy review, but hope it helped! In a nutshell, I love this mattress! It's a comfortable mattress with a gorgeous cover for a very reasonable price! I would definitely recommend this product :)

i will update this review as we own the mattress.after one monthi am incredibly happy with this purchase, my husband feels it is not as cool as he was hoping, but that doesn't mean he would have felt another memory foam mattress would have been better and it could be our beddingalso i forgot to mention smell, at first we noticed nothing at all, when we came back to our room a few hours later we did notice the unpleasant odor, we turned a fan on and never noticed it again EVERi have zero back pain in the morning and the mattress shows no sign of wear or anything.First impressions1. I was concerned about shipping, we did not hear that it had shipped after 5 days past the order but we ordered during holidays and I figured there might be some delays. Then I got a tracking number with notification of shipping and when I tracked it immediately it was out for delivery...problem was since I didn't know, I wasn't home. Not too big of deal since the frame hadn't arrived yet. Fedex called and scheduled a delivery date with me. I only mention this in case anyone else has tracking issues.2. My husband and I tried several memory foam mattresses in stores and talked to several owners. We really enjoyed laying on the cooling mattresses but figured with our budget and general comfort level of spending money we couldn't afford the newer more deluxe models. I had resigned myself to a low end comparable brand name. but I am a budget shopper and hate to pay more than I have to and I hate to pay for a name...so I started hunting online. THIS mattress was a definite gamble but I felt the cost and the reviews to date merited exploring. Plus anything had to better than our current mattress.It feels identical to a quick lay down on the brand name and since that is all i have to go on I feel at this point it was a bargain.3. Delivery was easy, unpacking was difficult due to the instructions being rolled into the plastic that tells you how to unroll it. You need to able people to maneuver it. It is rolled so that that if you unroll it the bottom of the mattress is up, be prepared to flip it. We unrolled it with the crown at the head of the bed on the frame and then flipped by pulling the mattress up at the end of the frame and rotating on its end.so the crown is at the bottom. We didn't plan it that way it just worked.I would complain but all mattresses of this kind would be difficult and truly the deal break on this wasn't just for having to do it ourselves.4. the mattress inflated quick, we were amazed! Also the two FREE pillows were such a treat and came rolled inside the bed and inflated very quickly. they were also wonderful to sleep on. But know that they are standard size and quite large.I planned on shoving then into my king cases but the cases are on the narrow side and they don't fit, they do fit my other cases fine.5. I did not sleep soundly (yet) but my back feels better than it has in a long time.

Okay.....I usually don't leave reviews but since the input of buyers can really be a decision maker for someone researching a product, I decided to contribute my thoughts. After doing much on-line research, I made the decision to buy this mattress. I am a 56 year old female with back and leg issues. I have degenerative disc disease in my lower back along with arthritis and have back pain pretty much 24/7. I can't tell you the last time I had a decent night's sleep. I was hoping to find a mattress that would relieve some of my pain and help me to sleep better. The mattress was delivered in a timely fashion and is heavy, but I managed to drag the box in my house. The mattress comes rolled up in plastic and was fairly easy to drag into my bedroom and pull up on my bed. Once you cut open the plastic, it's pretty cool to watch it decompress. As the mattress begins opening up, you'll notice the bottom faces up so it needs to be flipped over. It really does inflate to full size rather quickly, as do the two pillows that come with it. The manufacturer says to wait a full 72 hours to sleep on it....I however, waited 30 hours. I did notice a slight odor from the mattress upon opening, but by the time I slept on it, I did not really notice it at all. My bedroom is very well ventilated and maybe that helped. The two pillows, however, do have a much stronger smell, that still smell after 5 nights. I use them anyway as they are very comfortable. I am hoping they air-out eventually. As for the mattress itself, I really like it a lot. It is a firm mattress, but it does "hug" your form when you lay on it, so it is not "hard". Also, I am a side sleeper and have no trouble shifting on it. I will say it has tremendously improved my back pain in just 5 nights. I was previously sleeping on a heating pad every night to try to get some relief. Also, it sleeps cool. Does not get hot. Overall, this is an extremely nice mattress (especially for the price) and I highly recommend it. I am very satisfied with my purchase and I think you will be too. (UPDATE - 2 weeks later, I can't believe the difference this mattress has made in relieving my back pain! I LOVE this mattress.)
