An actual response
By C. Walder
I needed two sets of bunk beds and was a little hesitant to commit as there were no reviews on this product at the time. The price was just too good to ignore so I went for it. Let's face it, we buy on Amazon for the convenience, low prices and most importantly (for me at least) the reviews. I am very pleased with these beds. The assembly was fairly simple (it will take a good hour though) and they look great. At this price it is obviously a veneer so be careful not to scratch it or it is there forever. The screws that hold it together are very long and the beds are sturdy and easily take the abuse of our four kids. There are two small screws that lock the ladder in place against the bed. I would suggest you skip that step. Between our two beds all four screws came out within 48 hours. The ladder already has hooks at the top which securely hold in place. The screw seem pointless to me unless you really don't want to be able to remove the steps at any point. If that is what you are looking for use a longer screw from your own workshop. Besides, you will find that making the bed is a pain in the rear with the ladder locked permanently in place. Being able to unhook it makes that task a great deal easier. The only complaint I had was the way they packaged the wood. If you buy this bed be sure to carefully cut the tape line down the middle of the long box (it comes in two boxes). Just under the tape line are the steps lined up nice a neatly. Sure enough I ran a razor blade down the line and there is a cut down the middle of each step. I just flipped the steps upside down when I assembled the ladder and no is the wiser to my mishap. Still an odd choice of packaging order since the very bottom of the box has unfinished plywood pieces to support the mattress. I submitted a comment to the seller and they actually called me the next morning. He told me he was going to follow up that day with his manufacturer and thanked me repeatedly. Needless to say for an online purchase I was extremely impressed with his call. The plywood support slats are plenty strong for the kids but you should buy or make a board to lay on top before adding the mattress. I just bought some plywood and cut them to size. Now each bed can hold four kids and adult all at once with no problem. It's nice that we didn't lose our bedtime story cuddle due to a weak bed.In short, be careful how you open the long box and feel great about buying these beds. I don't know how they will look 3 years from now but we are a few months in and very happy. One last comment, I was really impressed with how well they packaged the product as a general statement. So many times I've received things from Amazon where the box is a mess with banged up corners and damaged product. They added some kind of reinforcing white stiff cardboard border around all of the edges of both boxes. You couldn't damage the box if you tried. I wish everyone did that.If the seller reads this, thanks for your quick response and quality affordable product. I have no doubt that you will have lots of positive reviews in just a few months time.Brian

Sturdy and acceptable for youth
By R. Sundrud
I just put this bunk bed together. The directions were mostly illustrations, and very wisely it said "Don't tighten screws until finished!" There were screws in places where it said bolts, but with careful thought, it went together and appears to be solid enough. We'll be putting teenage boys on it, not kids, but it's hard to find bunks of that sort that don't look like army bunks. I think this will hold, and will post an addendum if not. The wife likes the look. We're buying two bunkie boards for it -- the six slats won't do unless you have small kids or mattresses with an internal frame. We'll lay the bunkie boards over the six slats for security and for the strongest foundation for the teenagers. If you have a small home and need to stack bodies, this will do. Will the cute ladder hold up for teens? We'll see.

Everything I wanted at the best price!
By Jill F.
This bunk bed is very comparable to furniture store bunk beds, and the price was cheaper including delivery! I wanted this bed for my husbands kids who live out of state. A bunk bed that an turn into 2 twins and a removable ladder. I am extremely happy with this and would recommend it to everyone! You wont be disappointed.
