Perfect for the grandkids/guest room

I was looking for a wooden trundle type bed for a guest room. It needs to look nice and stand up to frequent use by young grandsons as well as occassional adult visitors. I checked a lot of nearby stores (U.S. and Canada) without finding something I liked. This one looked good in the pictures, and the price was very good compared to what was in the stores.The bed was delivered quickly in 3 heavy packages. Parts were all good quality and well packaged. Directions were generally easy to follow, with only a few confusing parts. I was able to put it together myself, although another set of hands would have made for a quicker job. DEFINITELY use an electric drill/screwdriver to put it together!All together, it is a nice looking bed, and seems like it will hold up well. The kids love having personal drawers to put their things. It is a little taller than some other beds, because of the drawers on the bottom, and the lower bed is actually closer in height to where a standard bed would normally be. The height of the top bed surprised me a bit, but it is still very usable.This was my first attempt at something on this scale, and I was delighted to have been able to put this together by myself and have it turn out as nice as it did.

Decent bed overall

This arrived in three heavy flat boxes. After organizing the many parts it was easy enough to assemble but there are many screws so a drill/electric screwdriver is a must. There were enough screws but not in the proper quantities indicated in the instructions. Some parts were not predrilled. A couple of parts needed to be trimmed in order for them to fit. So give yourself at least 4 hours to put this thing together. It is solid, (but the wood is soft), huge and looks good. $500 seems like a lot but if you need a trundle, that seems to be the asking price.

We purchased this bed to put in our 10 year old boys room, now that he is getting taller and sleeping more! It came in perfect condition, was a little bit tough to put together for one person (hubby) but not bad. It is made of nice wood, looks great, provides lots of storage and best of all fits a twin bed in the trundle for guests. The trundle can be pulled completely out and wheeled to another spot in the room too so that your not stepping on the person when you get off the bed. It is a bit high and could pose a challenge for elderly guests, which is my fault for not looking at the total height. My son loves it!
